Limited Lifetime Warranty
1. Our Commitment We build Bike Bivys to endure the rigors of a cyclist life. We warrant to the original purchaser that your bivy will be free from manufacturer defects in materials and workmanship for the practical lifetime of the product.
2. What "Practical Lifetime" Means A Bike Bivy is a durable waterproof cover for your bicycle meant to be subject to the elements. "Lifetime" does not mean the product will last forever. It refers to the reasonable period during which the bivy can still function as intended. Once the fabric has naturally thinned, become brittle from UV exposure, or reached a state where repair is no longer viable, the product has reached the end of its practical life.
3. What is Covered
Manufacturing Defects: Issues with seams and or faulty zippers upon arrival or during initial use.
Workmanship: Premature stitching failure or assembly errors under normal use.
4. What is NOT Covered (Exclusions)Outdoor gear naturally wears out. The following are specifically excluded from this warranty:
Normal Wear and Tear: Fading from UV exposure, minor abrasions from bike contact, or fabric degradation over years of use.
Any use of Bivy on roof top bike racks/transporters: Bike Bivy is not responsible for any damage or issues arising from use of the Bivy on roof top vehicle bike racks, transporters. Use of the Bike Bivy in this instance will void warranty.
Accidental Damage: Rips from thorns, burns from campfires, or damage caused by the bike itself.
Misuse & Neglect: Mold or mildew from storing the bivy while wet, or damage from using harsh chemical cleaners.
Modifications: Any unauthorized alterations or repairs performed by third parties.
Water leaking through zippers: Our zippers are coated with a durable waterproof repelent (DWR) and overtime will allow water to penetrate. Should this occur a DWR will need to be reapplied to the zippers.
5. How to File a Claim
Contact Us: Email support@BikeBivy.com with your original proof of purchase.
Assessment: Provide clear photos of the issue. We may require you to ship the bivy to us for a physical inspection (customer pays inbound shipping and Bivy must be clean).
Resolution: If we confirm a defect, we will repair the item. If it cannot be repaired, we will replace it with the most comparable current model at our discretion.
6. Limitation of Liability: Bike Bivy is not responsible for any incidental or consequential damages, including loss of gear or personal injury, arising from the use of our products. Furthermore, using the Bike Bivy on roof top vehicle bike racks or transporters will void the warranty.
Repair Program: We offer a "paid repair" service for non-warranty damage (example., $20 for a patch). We want to keep your gear in the field and maintain a sustainable business. We will asses the cost of the repair and advise you before any work is performed.
UV Education: Since Bike Bivy fabric is prone to UV degradation, refer to our "Care Guide" in your packaging.
Non-Transferable: Your warranty only applies as an original purchaser.
Returns/Exchanges and Trade-ins
Return & Exchange Policy (New Items): We want you to be fully satisfied with your Bike Bivy. If it isn’t the right fit for your bicycle or you, we offer a straightforward return process for items purchased exclusively via BikeBivy.com. Items bought through retailers may have different policies and all issues arising from products purchased outside of BikeBivy.com must be dealt with through the store or retailer of original purchase.
30-Day Window: You may return or exchange your bivy within 30 days of the confirmed delivery date.
Condition requirement: To be eligible for a refund or exchange, items must be in pristine, unused, and "as new" condition including all original tags, packaging, and manuals included.
Safety and Hygiene Exclusions: Due to the technical nature of outdoor equipment and health/safety standards, we strictly cannot accept returns on bivies that have been deployed outdoors, laundered, altered, or soiled in any manner.
Refunds: Approved returns will be refunded to the original payment method, typically within 7–9 business days after inspection.
Restocking Fees: All approved returns for refund are subject to a 15% Restocking & Inspection Fee. This fee covers the technical labor required to certify the gear for resale. This fee is waived for even exchanges or store credit.
Store Credit Incentives: We encourage exchanges or store credit instead of refunds. This only applies for items bought direct through Bike Bivy. Retailers may have a different policy.
Logistics: The customer is responsible for all return shipping costs and liabilities unless the item arrived damaged or a fulfillment error occurred on our part.
Retailer Purchases: Items purchased through third-party retailers must be returned to the original point of purchase and are subject to that retailer's specific policies.
2. "Gear for Life" Trade-In Program: Because outdoor gear eventually wears out, our trade-in program keeps your bivy out of the landfill and helps you upgrade to the latest tech.
Direct-Only Program: This program is managed exclusively by Bike Bivy. While gear purchased through retailers is eligible for trade-in, the credit issued can only be used at BikeBivy.com
Eligibility and Condition Standard: We accept functional, used Bike Bivies. Gear must be clean and bone-dry. Items exhibiting structural failure, heavy mold, or excessive bio-fouling will be rejected. Dirty or soiled Bike Bivys will be returned.
Process: Email photos to tradein@bikebivy.com of your used Bike Bivy.
In-Person Inspection: Upon preliminary approval, ship your gear to our facility. Bike Bivy reserves the sole right to make the final determination on gear condition.
Rejection Policy: Items sent to us that are dirty, wet, or non-functional will be rejected. Rejected items will be returned to the customer at the customer's sole expense, or responsibly recycled if the customer waives return.
Incentive: Following physical certification, a digital gift card valued at 15% to 30% of the original MSRP (based on graded condition) will be issued.
Sustainability: Traded-in gear is either professionally refurbished for our "Second-hand" shop or responsibly recycled, extending the product's life cycle.
